The UOB Plaza 1 Centre is strategically situated within Raffles Place, the financial and business hub of Singapore. It is located in a skyscraper occupying the largest waterfront site along the historical Singapore river of any commercial building in town. UOB Plaza One is 280 metres tall with 67 floors and was completed in 1992. It is the headquarters of a major bank and a number of other noted financial corporations and has a restaurant on the 60th floor. Designed by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange, its architecture is inspired by the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles. This tower is linked to the 38-storey UOB Plaza Two building by a podium that houses the banking hall as well as two renowned sculptures, 'City Room' by Salvador Dali, and 'Bird' by Fernando Botero. Full height glass walls provide dramatic lighting and views of the Singapore River.
