Seit Bau (1898-1900) ziert die ehemalige Villa Stentzler den Norden Leipzigs. Im Jahr 2014/2015 wurde Sie dann nochmals komplett renoviert. Im Souterrain befinden sich, neben dem Billardtisch, zwei Meetingecken um kurze Abklärungen zu treffen.
Die Mockauer Straße, die in der Mitte des Viertels verläuft, verbindet Mockau auf direktem Wege mit dem Hauptbahnhof und damit dem Stadtzentrum Leipzigs. Durch den Neubau zweier S-Bahn Stationen an der Essener und Mockauer Straße entstehen bis 2020 noch schnellere Verbindung zur Innenstadt aber auch zu anderen großen Städten wie Halle und Erfurt.
