The Paris La Défense Grande Arche Centre is situated in the symbolic 110m high Grande Arche and is the entrance to La Défense business zone. Constructed in 1989 as a stylish version of the Arc de Triomphe, perceivable in the east, it is an almost impeccable cubic structure of concrete, glass and marble. Metro, rail and road routes run under the arch, which houses government offices, and the cover section is utilized as an exhibition centre.
The arch completes the historical Parisian 'axis', which runs for 10km from the Louvre. The Paris La Défense Grande Arche Centre has a large auditorium able to receive 100 people. There are restaurant, car parking, access to hotels, shops and sports and health facilities within the Grande Arche complex.
