Located just east of the Westside, Central LA encompasses the historic neighborhoods of Hollywood, West Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire, Miracle Mile, Silverlake, Echo Park, and Los Feliz. Miracle Mile is often cited as a cultural center due to its wealth of clothing shops, restaurants, galleries and most prominently, museums. Miracle Mile sometimes referred to as “Museum Row” is home to some of Los Angeles’ top museums and exhibits such as The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Petersen Automotive Museum, La Brea Tar Pits and soon to be Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, which is set to open in 2020.

Food, especially food that is original, experimental and at times outright wild, is without a doubt, a key trait of Silverlake. Sqirl, Night + Market and Silverlake Ramen top the list for some of the most popular spots.

Attractions include the historic Dodger Stadium, one of the oldest ballparks in baseball. Other attractions include the Silver Lake Reservoir which has a moderately-difficult trail through the hills as well as a dog park. Not too far from the reservoir is Echo Park Lake where locals and tourists alike can enjoy paddleboarding amidst lotus flowers.

While this part of town doesn’t have their own station, it is within two miles of Downtown LA’s metro center, making it an accessible area from virtually all of LA County.
